Contraindications to performing of the food intolerance test

  • Infection - during infections, the immune system produces numerous and often non-specific antibodies, which can adversely affect the test result.
  • Children -  testing children until their immune system is fully developed does not make sense from the medical perspective. In our laboratory, we only test people over 18 years of age.
  • Diseases that influence the production of IgG antibodies - any diseases should be discussed before sample collection.
  • Antibiotics - the use of antibiotics may increase intestinal permeability which, in turn, may lead to a higher risk of false positive reactions in the test.

In case of gastrointestinal problems, we recommend seeing a gastroenterologist and before conducting a food intolerance test, we recommend having the following examined:

  • Type I food allergies
  • Celiac disease
  • HIT - histamine intolerance
